What a wild start to the new year. Things have been a little bit of a rollercoaster since January 1, and it has been both exciting and harrowing. The number of amazing people I have met, and opportunities I have been provided with is a little overwhelming.
As mentioned in my previous post, the chance to travel is still alive. It is more than alive in fact, it is flourishing. The call of adventure is appealing, but I still feel that now is not the time. I have some very large responsibilities to manage before I can truly consider living and traveling abroad again, tempting as it is.
Instead I chose the path less traveled (for me). I have taken employment in the horticulture industry, and will be based on Vancouver Island. Outside of potentially having to manage some personal and family matters, I should be staying put for some time as I work on expanding my horticulture skill set. This will provide me with time to get firmly established in my new home, and to build up the resources needed for the next step.
As I deal with all the challenges and opportunities being sent my way the updates on this site might continue to be a little bit infrequent.
Before parting I will just mention that there is a new piece of tech that I am going to try out. I found an application called Seek which is associated with inaturalist. I have just recently downloaded the app to my android device, and will be testing it out this week. It looks very good, and I am excited about using their plant id tech to improve my own local plant knowledge. If I like it perhaps I will do a review at a later date.
Until next time, make it a wild one friends!
