I have often thought about pursuing a career in a creative field. While working to pay the bills, a large portion of my personal time has always been spend on creative pursuits. More than anything else, creativity is essential to me.
And so I write.
I find writing fulfills my need for creative expression and intellectual engagement. That said, I would consider almost any career that allows me to express myself creatively. Writing, painting, sculpting, photography – these are all paths that I have considered.
If that does not work out I would probably make a great outdoor guide. Oh, and if everything falls apart and society turns to chaos, I got you. I am a survivor just waiting to happen. All I need is a good civilization destroying megapocalypse to validate my existence.
