I pick up my phone and hold the power button. It chimes lightly before shutting down. It goes in a drawer with the other things I will not need. I reach over and press the circular power button on my PC, feeling the satisfying click as the power switches off. I wait for a moment as the screens fade to black, savoring the quiet that follows.
I stand up and walk to the doorway, lightly brushing my hand over the power switch as I move through the portal. Before me is a stairway which I must ascend. At the top is a backpack. Inside are an assortment of items required for the wildlands to which I am headed.
My mission is simple. A single word will suffice.
