Year of the Dragon

Share what you know about the year you were born.

When I was just a child we used to have a single Chinese food diner in our small town. It was a tradition for the family to gather there, and I will always remember the paper place mats that had an image of the entire Chinese zodiac printed on them. I found it especially interesting because I happened to be born in the year of the dragon. How lucky was I? Of all the different animals on the wheel what could possibly be cooler than a dragon I thought.

In reality I give little thought to horoscopes and zodiac signs. I am not judging if that is your thing, just not my particular field of interest. Dragons on the other hand, very cool. I even found out that there are different types of dragon, and that I happen to be a Fire Dragon. I mean, come on, talk about winning the zodiac lottery.

Anyway, that is all that I have for you. I am sure that many momentous events took place in 1976, but here I am thinking about giant dragons made of fire and brimstone.

As we prepare to say farewell to 2024, the year of the wood dragon, I do so with high hopes. It was a very challenging year for me, with allot of change and upheaval. I do not attribute these difficulties to the astral phases, but I do hope that 2025 will be a little less erratic.
