Book em!

What books do you want to read?

I have read prolifically over the course of my life. Almost no genre has escaped my attention, and I can say that books have been fundamental in my own growth and development.

A good book can be an adventure for those of us inclined to “recline” if you know what I mean. And I get it! Chilling on a lazy-boy with fuzzy slippers and a cup of coffee whilst following the adventures of a paperbound hero is great.

Someone once said that books are like first aid for your mind. I also understand this. At every moment of high crisis in my life I have turned again and again to books. In Canada we are fortunate to have a well funded and operated public library system.

Although I do enjoy free access to information I also have a substantial collection of books – some of the most influential in my own journey.

What books do I want to read now? I am actually at an interesting place in life where I am not highly motivated to read. I am instead spending my time learning to write. At present there are no books on my list, though im certain that will change as my current projects come to completion.

Lastly, just a quick explanation of the idiom in my post title:

Book em – The phrase means to arrest or charge someone with a crime. In the context of the show (Hawaii Five-0), it was often said after the detectives had gathered enough evidence to apprehend a suspect.
