If I could have a job for a day it would be chef to the wealthy.
When I say wealthy, I mean one of the old money families. You know, the shadowy behind the scenes dynasties that we all hear about, but who always avoid the spotlight.
You may be asking why I would choose this as a dream job. The answer is that its not a dream job. I have absolutely no interest in being a chef, or waiting on the ultra rich. I enjoy cooking, but no so much that it would ever be a dream vocation. No, my reasons are more complicated.
I would choose this job because I have a burning question. What do those people eat? I have run on a theory for quite some time – that the truly wealthy do not eat the garbage that most companies pass off as food these days. I am certain that in dynastic families the consumption of ultra processed food like substances would be discouraged, or outright forbidden.
Anyone with an eye on the future and a good education would have to take steps to ensure long term health… right? Dynasties are build and maintained through careful planning and a culture that demands success… right?
Do they drink the tap water? Do they eat lots of carbs, or more of a high protein high fat diet? So many questions. A day would do it though. Just enough time to learn what they are eating, and where the ingredients are coming from.
It would also be fun to have people saying “yes Chef” to me all day.
