People often comment that I look, act or sound much younger than I am. In fact someone made just such a comment to me only a few hours ago.
In many ways I believe that there is truth to the comments. I always looked young for my age, but even more important has been my dedication to a healthy lifestyle.
In my 30s I was very very ill. Instead of succumbing I chose a different path. I turned my back on popular medicine and went deep into a very radical diet. I changed my life completely. After learning how to eat, I learned how to fast. Then I cleaned up my living environment, and took up spiritual, physical, and intellectual exercise. After nearly dying in my 30s I rededicated my life to being healthy and helping others.
My today life is more akin to that of a monk than it is to the average North American. I don’t do it for the appearance of youth however… no that is just a side effect of choosing health, purpose, and happiness.Am I perfectly disciplined? No, certainly not. In our world of cheap, fast and convenient goods it is a constant struggle.Sometimes it takes everything I have. Is it worth it? In my eyes yes. Regardless of how I look or sound one truth remains. I perform better than many men half my sge, and I continue to do the things I love where my peers have had to move on due to deteriorating health.
