There are a multitude of different diets out there, all of them claiming to be the one true path to ideal health. Over the years I have tried almost all of them, and I can honestly say that a few really worked. For the last decade I have been living proof.
As a result of my success and transformation from sickness to health I became obsessed with the idea that there must be a perfect way for human beings to eat. I spent years researching and trying different diets, but could never quite figure out an ideal formula.
Even the diet I had used to regain my health had its flaws, and as I learned more about my own dietary needs, I began to see that there is simply too much variation in our physiological requirements for one diet to work across the board.
I believe the difficulty is related to our own genetics, the environment we live in, and what kind of life we live. Adding to this we must consider our health, and whether or not we have issues that complicate the matter. a couple modern complications include allergies, intolerances, and the mystery that is IBS.
To add yet another layer of complexity we must also consider the modification of our foods, the addition of chemicals, and the introduction of pesticides and other synthetic compounds.
What you end up with is a very very complicated situation. I for one found it impossible to identify a definitive solution. Through trial and error I know what works for me, but I would be remiss to think that my own success could be equally valid for someone else.
