Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

The largest single ticket item would be my degree.

The dollar tag would be significantly larger if I were to say my entire education to date. Getting a degree was only the beginning, and learning has been a lifelong pursuit. Post college I have pursued a variety of certifications, and continue to do so.

This helps me stay relevant, and it feeds my need for personal growth and intellectual engagement. It also provides some degree of future proofing, assuming one pursues relevant topics.

As they say, give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime. At least that is the theory.
